This class is designed for novices and those who want to return to sewing after a while (like maybe since Home Economics in sixth grade!) or want updates on the newest techniques. The focus is on basic techniques, sewing terms, fabric selection, reading a pattern, pressing techniques, seam finishes, notions, and operating a sewing machine.
You will work on one home decor and one garment project to develop your skills and then go on to a more advanced project as time permits. No prior sewing experience is necessary.
Sewing machines are provided by the shop, however if you have one you may bring it provided it is in good working order and you have a manual. Our experience with this class has shown that the students enjoy it so much, they want to learn more. We will schedule the next level of sewing upon the close of this session for those who wish to continue.
Tuesdays for 6 weeks - Feb 21,28 , Mar 7, 14, 21, & 28
Time: 5:30pm -7:30pm.
